Bronner Brothers 77th Homecoming Nail Competition

The Nail Theme: Bronner Brothers and the legacy of the Bronner Brothers brand in the beautyindustry. This year’s competition revolves around the theme of “Homecoming,” paying homageto the historic return of the Bronner Brothers show to its roots in Atlanta.Participants in the competition are invited to unleash their creativity and artistic ability bycreating nail designs that encapsulate the essence of Bronner Brothers, Atlanta’s vibrant culture,and the beauty industry. Contestants are encouraged to draw inspiration from the rich history ofBronner Brothers, which has been synonymous with innovation, inclusivity, and pushing theboundaries of beauty.

The Bronner Brothers 77th Homecoming Nail Competition not only highlights the artistry and innovation within the nail industry but also underscores the importance of unity, creativity, and the enduring influence of brands like Bronner Brothers in shaping beauty trends. Through this event, the legacy of Bronner Brothers is celebrated in a visually captivating and engaging way, as participants pay tribute to the brand’s impact on the beauty culture while marking its return to its hometown, Atlanta.

All Participants (contestants and models) must sign a release form by [TBA]. Failure to complete this form before [TBA] may significantly delay your check-in process as you WILL NOT be allowed entry into the competition headquarters until these forms are received electronically. By completing the form, you are agreeing to abide by all the rules and regulations set forth byBronner Brothers.

Bring all the required material to the check-in desk and Competition Headquarters (CHQ):

 

Two Forms of ID for registration proof of age with a photograph. (e.g. birth certificate & driver’s license or birth certificate & passport, or a birth certificate & school ID card) Your name must match.

Proof of an active professional license.

Model Must be 18 years or older, proof that the model is at least 18 years of age is required. If the age of the model is questioned, and proper ID is not available, the model can not be used.

Punctuality: Timeliness is crucial. You must check-in at the desk in the Competition Headquarters (CHQ) on Sunday, February 25, 2024, (10:30 am – 11:00 am) prior to starting.

Late Arrival Notice: If you arrive late after checking-in, you may still be permitted to compete at the judges discretion; however, the competition time will begin and end promptly for everyone.

The model must be prepped and fully dressed matching the nail theme upon check-in time. (You are not allowed to serve as your own model during the competition).

During the judging process models must be able to move freely without assistance.

All models are welcome to participate but must meet the age requirement.

No additional persons are allowed in the prep room. Only the Model and Competitor will be allowed in the Prep room during the briefing and pre-judging time. There will be an area near the Main Stage for viewing during the competition. Children under 12 are NOT allowed on the Exhibit floor, backstage, or in the area for this competition. Current Bronner Brothers employees, platform artists, and educators cannot compete in this competition. A minimum of 2 years of non-association with the company is required to qualify.

AFTER THE COMPETITION, all decisions by the judges are final. ALL COMPETITORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR PERSONAL BELONGINGS!! Bronner Brothers is not responsible for theft or lost items left in the Competition Headquarters (CHQ) or on the main stage after the competition. NO EXCEPTIONS! All winners must report to the Competition Headquarters (CHQ) to complete all paperwork to receive payment of awards and prizes. If this paperwork is incomplete, you may significantly delay or in some cases forfeit your payment in full if you place or win in the competition.

Bronner Brothers and the Sponsors reserve the right to cancel the competition if a minimum number of competitors is not met.

Keep in mind: If you are driving, parking will be a challenge. There may be heavy traffic or major detours near the Convention Center. Please use your time wisely and plan your route to the facility ahead of time. Hotel accommodations are going fast, as this will be a VERY busy weekend. PLEASE make time allowances. We DO NOT give refunds for late arrivals or for any reason other than competition cancellation called by Bronner Brothers. You have been informed.

The Theme: Bronner Brothers 77th Homecoming Attention All Participants (Nail Competition Rules)

 

Kindly take a moment to read the following instructions carefully. Failure to meet specific requirements will result in point deductions. Your careful attention to detail is crucial to ensure a fair and successful competition. Make sure to adhere to all stated guidelines to maximize your chances of winning.

All nail work must be done and completed by the registered competitor only. If our staff or judges find this rule has been violated, the competitor will be prohibited from competing in any Bronner Bros competition for one year. You are responsible for bringing your model. We don’t provide models. (You are not allowed to serve as your own model during the competition).

TIME SCHEDULE:
Check-In at Competition Headquarters(CHQ) Sunday, February 25, 2024, (10:30 am -11:00 am)

ALL JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL.

Models must come with 9 nails applied with acrylic or hard gel. (Leave one middle finger undone natural nail only). You will have to prep, apply product, and complete the one middle finger on-site at the competition headquarters). Press-ons, Poly Gel, and Gel-X are not allowed. Please don’t apply any polish or nail art to the 9 nails they must be a blank canvas buff and file only with nothing but your choice of acrylic or hard gel applied to them. (All finished artwork must be completed on-site at the competition headquarters). You will have 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete your nails.

A table section and electricity source will be provided however competitors are responsible for all products required to complete their finished look during the competition. Please bring table lighting and extension cords. We will not provide any products or tools.

There are no dressing rooms. Models must be prepped and fully dressed matching the theme of their nails upon arrival. Entrants and models must remain until all judging is complete.

Handmade pre-made 3D elements are allowed but must be documented by video showing you complete the creation process, all handmade pre-made 3D elements must be left blank, and all art on the 3D elements must be completed and applied to nails on-site at the competition headquarters.

Embellishments: (e.g. – rhinestones, chains, nail charms, bling, etc. may be used but must not dominate or exceed 20% of the overall design.)

For judging, all work must be attached to the model’s nails – All fingers must move freely. Judges must be able to view every angle of each nail. Competitors and models must remain until all judging is complete.

No Grotesque – No Horror – No Monsters!

There is a minimum number of competitors for the nail competition to be judged.

Please take a moment to review the following list to understand the criteria that the judges will use for evaluation:

Final Nail Design:

  • Creativity
  • Originality
  • Theme execution
  • Complexity, craftsmanship, & detail
  • Model & nails compliment the theme
  • WOW Factor (The overall look of the nails & artwork)

Quality Of The Demo:

  • Proper use of products & tools
  • Did the demo showcase the technique well?
  • Application precision (e.g. – even application, flush cuticles, even shape/structure)

Technique:

  • Did the competitor execute well?
  • Did the competitor show a variety of skills?
  • Did the competitor use advanced techniques?

Challenge Guidelines:

  • Did the model compliment the nails?
  • How well did the competitor meet the requirements of the challenge?

Professionalism:

  • Was the work area kept tidy?
  • Did the competitor arrive on time?
  • Was the submission completed on time?
